Wooster Plumbing & Heating Co.
636 E Milltown Rd, Wooster OH 44691, Wayne County

Sixty odd years in Wayne County, and their website link goes to city hall.

Wooster Plumbing & Heating is a family owned shop on East Milltown Road serving Wayne and Holmes counties. Plumbing repairs, drain cleaning, hot water heaters, boilers, new construction and remodeling, Ohio license number 24698. Ring (330) 345-6196 and ask for Rusty. What they do not have is a website, which is why two big directories currently send people looking for them to the City of Wooster instead.

What they fix

Six things off their own list, in the wording they wrote themselves.

Everything on this page comes from the services blurb Wooster Plumbing wrote for its own directory listing. No prices appear anywhere, because they publish none, so what a job costs is a conversation on (330) 345-6196 rather than a number somebody guessed. If something is not listed here it is because they have not claimed it, and there is no sense inventing a service for a shop that has run on word of mouth for six decades.

Drain and Plumbing Repairs

Drain and Plumbing Repairs

The everyday work and the first thing on their own list. A leak under a sink, a fitting that has finally given up, a line that has started weeping somewhere it should not. Residential and commercial both.

Drain Cleaning

Drain Cleaning

Named separately on their list, which tells you they do enough of it to call it its own job rather than folding it into repairs. Kitchen, bath, and the main line when it is the whole house backing up.

Hot Water Heaters

Hot Water Heaters

Replacement and repair. This is the call that always comes at the worst time, usually a cold shower on a weekday morning, and it is on their list in their own words.

Hot Water Heat and Boilers

Hot Water Heat and Boilers

The heating half of the name, and it is real. Boilers and hot water heat are on their own list. That is a specific skill and a shrinking one, and a lot of Wayne County houses still run on it.

New Construction

New Construction

Rough in and finish plumbing on new builds. Residential and commercial. A shop that has been doing this since the 1950s or 60s has seen most of what a plan set can throw at it.

Remodeling and Emergency Service

Remodeling and Emergency Service

Bathroom and kitchen remodels where the plumbing has to move, plus emergency service, which is the last item on their own list. See the hours note below before you assume what emergency means here, the listings do not agree.

How it works

How you get somebody out.

1

Ring (330) 345-6196

One number, and it is consistent everywhere it appears. Their own listing says to ask for Rusty, so do that. Manta records the owner as Rex Riggs, which is almost certainly the same man, so either name will land.

2

Say whether it is plumbing or heat

They do both, and the heating half is boilers and hot water heat rather than forced air. Saying which one you have got saves a conversation, especially in a county with as much hot water heat as this one.

3

Check what emergency means

One listing says they are open 24 hours, another says 8 to 6 Monday to Saturday. Their own words say Emergency Service and nothing more precise. Ask on the call what that actually covers before you need it at 2am.

4

Bring a check

Check is the only payment method named on their listing. That listing is unclaimed and could be years out of date, so if you need to pay another way, ask first rather than after the work is done.

About us

A family shop on East Milltown Road, and nobody can agree how old it is.

Wooster Plumbing & Heating is at 636 East Milltown Road in Wooster, serving Wayne and Holmes counties. It is family owned and operated in their own words, four people or thereabouts, Ohio license number 24698, and they stock Delta, Kohler and Mansfield. The owner is recorded as Rex Riggs, and their own listing tells you to ask for Rusty. Here is the odd part. One source says the shop dates to 1954, another says it was established in 1968, one listing says 72 years in business and their own blurb says over 60 years in one place and over 65 in another. Somewhere in there is a real founding year and a real story, and right now the business has nowhere of its own to settle it.

Hours

Monday8:00am to 6:00pm, one listing says 24 hours
Tuesday8:00am to 6:00pm, one listing says 24 hours
Wednesday8:00am to 6:00pm, one listing says 24 hours
Thursday8:00am to 6:00pm, one listing says 24 hours
Friday8:00am to 6:00pm, one listing says 24 hours
Saturday8:00am to 6:00pm, one listing says 24 hours
SundayNot listed, emergency service only

These rows say two things at once on purpose, because the internet says two things at once and neither of them came from the shop. One directory prints Open 24 Hours, seven days. A second prints Monday to Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, with no Sunday. Both listings are unclaimed, so nobody at Wooster Plumbing has ever confirmed or corrected either one. The only hours claim in their own words is the phrase Emergency Service at the end of their services list, which is not a schedule. If you are working out whether somebody will answer at 2am on a Sunday, do not take either listing as fact, ring (330) 345-6196 and ask them directly.

The shop is at 636 East Milltown Road in Wooster, in Wayne County, and they cover Wayne and Holmes counties from there. Worth knowing before you go looking online, both YellowPages and Manta list their website as woosteroh.com, which is the City of Wooster government site and has nothing to do with them. There is no plumbing website. The number is (330) 345-6196.

Tell us what has gone wrong.

Say what is leaking, blocked or cold, and whether it is a house or a business, and somebody will come back to you. If water is actively coming out of something, do not fill in a form, ring (330) 345-6196 and ask for Rusty.

No prices are published for any of this work, so nothing here quotes one. Check is the only payment method named on their listing, though that listing is unclaimed and may be old, so confirm it on the call. Ohio license number 24698, licensed and fully insured in their own words.
